Biography

Karl Johan Gabriel Perjus is a Director, Cinematographer and Designer. His first foray into filmmaking was directing a series of attention grabbing music videos for local Swedish bands in his early twenties, after which he went on to study Visual Communication (MFA) at Konstfack – University Of Arts And Crafts, Stockholm. This was interrupted when offered a position as Junior Art Director at then start-up design agency and clothing brand Acne.

After having returned to Konstfack to finish his Masters degree, Johan started Alphabetical Order along with two friends. A boutique design agency that designed for print, motion graphics, animations and commercials for clients such as SVT – Swedish Public Service, Scandinavian Airlines and Nike. Their work was also exhibited at the ICA (Institute Of Contemporary Art) in London as part of the OneDotZero festival, as well as published in several international design publications such as Los Logos, Dos Logos, North By North and Low Fat Graphics.

For the last 10 years Johan worked at BR•F (b-reel films) developing and directing commercials for multiple Fortune 500 companies such as Canon, Google, FedEx, H&M, IKEA, Samsung and Volkswagen globally.

Apart from filmmaking and graphic design, Johan is also a skilled photographer, illustrator and designer that comfortably moves between designing user interfaces, logotypes and packaging to furniture, lighting and interiors.
